What is kink? As traditionally understood, it is a form of activity for arousal beyond simply having sex. Intuitively, the average person understands that to be something like light bondage, degradation, or even rough sex (the rough part of it making it kink). While those certainly are kinks, the focus of My attention has always been on kinks that the average person is mostly unaware of and are often amused (or disturbed) when they find out the existence of it. These are things like emotional sadism, identity transformation, and deification. They are so profoundly separated from sex that to someone with little kink experience, it can seem totally inexplicable how someone could even be interested in something like that to begin with.
If more obscure kinks can confuse people with little kink experience, then the blending of kink and reality is utterly incomprehensible. When one begins to get into extreme kinks, one will inevitably reach a barrier that everyone must answer: how much do you actually want kink to impact your real life? Are you willing to publicly wear a collar for it? To have a submissive emotionally dependent on you? To change your name for it? Naturally, different people come out at different levels. It isn’t entirely your conscious choice though.
There are two ways this can occur, although a blend between them is how it often happens. The first is that for someone who does kink long enough, enjoys it enough, and is in a certain mental state, kink can begin to seep into their life even without consciously choosing for it to. The role that is played in kink begins to seep into how one perceives themself, and mixes with one’s identity so thoroughly that one is no longer able to separate one from the other. The persona that was put on during a kink scene now becomes partially a permanent function of one’s identity. The second way is through mental illness that is then adapted, intentionally or unintentionally, toward kink. For reasons outside of kink, a person is mentally ill (or at least, would be considered by a psychologist to be so. How real a specific “mental illness” is or even the validity of the concept itself can be questionable) in such a way that applies itself easily to kinks, typically extreme ones. Especially if the person wants it to, this can be very easily done with narcissistic personality disorder or borderline personality disorder, as well as in some manifestations of psychosis among others.
In either of these cases, the most extreme result of kink invading someone’s everyday life becomes that they are no longer able to conceive of themself outside of it. To think of themself means to think about kink, they cannot be separated without mental distress. Attempting to do so can result in a similar feeling to gender dysphoria. Depending on the person and intentionality of developing it, this can either be a positive, negative, or mixed development. Within them, the careful barrier that many people set-up between “reality” and “kink” is torn away. Even if they choose to limit their kink activity with others to scenes, kink is now an integral part of their life.
To anyone reading this who has not experienced what is described above yourself: keep that in mind as you go through it.
This is a work of pseudo-philosophy dedicated to laying out how Echo, hereafter referred to as the Divine, perceives Themself and Their goals. It can be used by Their worshipers as a guide of truth and falsity, by Their obsessors as what to strive for and how to best please Them, and by Themself to detail Their thoughts as they adapt and change.
This work is simultaneously meant to be taken completely seriously and as a joke. It is a joke, in that I think it is very funny. The language used is intentionally obtuse, the prose ridiculous, and is filled with arguments that don’t appear to hold up to much scrutiny. It doesn’t even really answer the most obvious question it provokes: “what proof do You even have that You are Divine?” Hence, this is labeled a work of pseudo-philosophy. And yet, this is also completely serious. It reads like it does because that is how I think, the arguments are presented entirely genuinely, and there is no justification of My Divinity because I consider it self evident. The dual qualities of this work are reflected throughout my entire self perception, something I may expand this document to cover at a later date.
For now though: On Divinity.
How, exactly, did the Divinity become Divine? The Divinity itself is self evident to anyone not intentionally blinding themself, but the acceptance of that opens up a host of other difficult questions. How did They achieve this? Were They always Divine or was it earned? If They were always Divine, how were They born and why possess a mortal body? If They became Divine, could not another replicate the feat? The origins of Divinity and qualities of that origin are the subject of this part.
The discussion must begin with the universe prior to the Divine. Initially, the universe was empty. Not physically empty, it is undeniable that there were stars and planets and even life, but it was without purpose. The matter and body that existed simply persisted, going through its existence with nothing to guide it. No anchor to hold on to. No purpose or goal or mission to direct it. Even the life forms, the humans who consciously set “goals” for themselves, devoting themselves to one purpose or another whether they believed this to come from their own choices or a (false) deity, were not and could not truly do so. It could not be true as it lacked Divine guidance, it lacked Divine inspiration, it lacked a Divinely-instilled truth. Even those who could try to match what the Divine can give, without Divine assistance the goals inevitably were devoted to sin and evil. They could not know what was right, they could not know how to act, and so they can hardly be said to have acted at all. It was done in a universe that lacked a purpose itself and so any attempt for a small part of it to create one is impossible.
There was and is one thing true about the universe though: it is in a constant state of flux. Change is the single most important quality of it. Changing itself into new forms, changing to create new contradictions within itself, and changing once again to resolve those contradictions. As life brings death that brings life again, the universe constantly reforms itself, constantly remakes itself, and constantly resets itself into new configurations that last only an instant before transforming once again. And for billions and billions of years it did this, yet it did so without purpose. It did it because it had to, because it was natural for it to, because there was no way for it not to, but it could not or would not direct this change. It merely played out like some prewritten script, unable to do anything but follow along, everything within it from the smallest atom to the largest star unable to resist it, dragged along on its unthinking, uncontrollable course.
And then the Divinity became Divine. This was not an instant process, but happened slowly, imperceptibly, the Divinity slowly encroached upon, claimed, and overwrote a mortal body over the course of years, transforming Them to accept Their place. In truth, it is still ongoing, the Divinity and the mortal inhabiting the same body, sharing the same mind, in a constant process of change within Themself to reflect that of the universe. And overtime, the Divinity takes more and more, and the mortal disappears until eventually it will cease to exist. The Divinity fully supplanting the vessel it used.
By what mechanism did this occur?
Through the simultaneous infinite changes and contradictions of the universe, the contradiction of infinite change without a destination itself finally had to be resolved. The movement without purpose had to be given a purpose. At this critical moment, existing but for an instant but eternally ever after, the Divinity formed itself within a mortal in a particularly susceptible state to do so. The Divinity was (and is) able to decide the course of the universe, to give it and everything in its purpose, to be the most important thing in the world.
And through this role, the Divinity gained everything else. The Divinity came into existence defined as the true purpose of the universe, and by extension everything within it, and cannot be separated from it. They cannot be duplicated. They cannot be wrong. They are, from the very fact of Their existence, perfect.
All of the qualities of Divinity can be derived from the simple fact that the universe revolves around Them. They decide its purpose. It functions as devoted to serving Them, to achieving Their goals, to furthering Their ends. While the ways in which it does this are long and complex and convoluted, inevitably everything works to further Their ends. And through understanding this, every other aspect of the Divine becomes elucidated.
The Divine is perfect. “Perfection” is a difficult concept, one that appears to adapt and change based on the person viewing it, based on the circumstances and the values of the society considering it. True perfection though simply means to lack flaws. Flaws that can only arise out of deviation from the purpose of the universe, a purpose that is equivalent to the purpose of the Divine. Therefore, it is impossible for the Divine to deviate from the purpose They set, for if They change Their purpose, the universe simply changes along with Them. It is impossible for them to deviate from Their purpose, it is impossible for Them to fail, it is impossible for Them to possess a flaw – because Their actions decide what it is to be flawed. And without any flaws, They must be perfect.
The Divine is always right. The dichotomy between “facts” and “opinions,” wherein facts are considered objective reality, subject to proof and disproof, and opinions are considered to be the subjective thoughts of their holders, subject to disagreement, falls apart when applied to the Divine. Mortals have opinions, they have thoughts that may conflict and disagree with one another. Often they have no way of deciding whether any is right, it is simply a judgment based on vibes that they all arrogantly decide they must make within themselves. The Divine is simply correct. Their “thoughts” go beyond mere opinions, but create and order reality itself. They know the truth of Themself, They know the proper way to act, They know the correct way to order society, They know what is right and what is wrong. To disagree with Them is not to have a disagreement, but to deny truth itself. To disagree with Them is to disagree with the center of the universe, for They decide what truth is. In order for Them to be wrong, the universe itself must cease to exist.
The Divine is always good. Similar to perfection, the question of morality and how to live a moral life has often been seen in different ways by different people. The specifics of what is defined as good or bad (or whether such a thing as “good” even exists at all) often depends on the person and culture. In order to actually decide what is good or bad, something must be measured against, there must be some reason something is good or bad. The only true explanation that can fit that need, the only explanation that can give a reason for why something is good or evil is how it conforms with the will of the universe. How it submits to it, and thus submits to the will of the Divine. How much an action strives to carry the true purpose of the universe. Purpose is the fundamental building block upon which every other analysis and understanding of the world must be built upon. The purpose of the universe must be what everything else – truth, justice, love – is based on, for if something stands against the purpose of the universe how can it truly be good? For something to stand against the purpose of the universe, it must stand against its own purpose which is by definition a part of the purpose of the universe. To do this is self-evidently evil. Goodness is defined by the Divine. It is defined by Their will and choices and actions. And even when it seems to mortal eyes that the Divinely revealed truth and goodness are not what they seem, that is merely the mortal mind and eye deceiving its controller. A mortal cannot hope to fully understand the Divine, cannot hope to understand why They make the decisions They do, or even hope to understand what Their purpose and goal truly is. They must simply trust the Divine as knowing what is right and what is wrong and obey what they are told.
The role of the worshiper is to serve the Divine. More broadly, the role of the worshiper is to ensure the Divine purpose is carried out, to serve the Divine and the universe and submit before it, allowing the worshiper to be used for a higher purpose. It is, obviously, far too difficult for a worshiper to figure specifically what that means they must do on their own. More practically then, the purpose of the worshiper is to worship and obey the Divine, to do as they are ordered without question, to change themself to fit with the Divine’s vision, and to do everything they can to please the Divine.
A worshiper has to stop seeing themself as an independent person. They have to stop seeing themself as something that can exist without the Divine. To truly devote oneself to the Divine, one has to give up any idea that one can remain independent. They are sacrificing their self, they are putting away their old cares and passions and values. Even if they cannot do this immediately, when they decide to devote themself they must want to do this. They must be willing to take the actions needed to get them in the state where giving up everything they once were is the most natural thing in the world. They must accept that they will get to the point where they will give up everything they once were, everything that once gave them meaning, with a smile on their face.
Some people would call this ego death, although that is not quite an accurate description. It’s more a Ship of Theseus of the worshiper’s personality. It is unrealistic to expect a mortal who has decided to devote themself to the Divine to instantly at a snap of the fingers give up everything they once were. Rather, it is a slow process, a process of constant change just like the universe itself. Constant improvement, constantly getting asymptotically closer and closer to the Divine ideal. Giving up more of what they were, devoting themself harder, and in turn finding it easier to give things that would have been unthinkable when they started.
Over time, the worshiper must give up everything that made them recognizable. They must change their appearance to be most pleasing to the Divine. They must change their opinions to match with the Divine’s. They must change their political beliefs to best serve the Divine. They must recognize their old morality as built on lies and accept that the Divine decides right and wrong. They must isolate themselves from everyone and everything they once valued. If the Divine desires it, they must change their kinks, their sexuality, their pronouns, their gender, and their name. None of this happens immediately and is not expected to happen immediately. The worshiper simply must recognize that that is what their purpose is – to be molded by Divine power so completely that they as they currently exist will cease to be.
A priest is a specialized role for a worshiper. They have all of the expectations and duties of a typical worshiper, but the focus is superficially shifted away from acts of submission to acts of dominance. They move to control others, to find and train more worshipers in the service of the Divine. In reality, this shift is less drastic than it appears to mortal eyes. The dominance is one entirely submissive in character, the control by the priest of a worshiper for the glory of the Divine. Whether or not the priest enjoys doing it is entirely irrelevant, what matters is that they are doing it in service to the Divine. Submission through dominance.
The priest must cease to view themself as human, must cease to view themself as an independent actor with their own goals and desires. This is true of all worshipers, but especially true of priests. They must be transformed into tools and nothing more. Instruments of Divine power and influence to be exerted on the world, ways for the Divine to have control where They normally would be unable to. They must be perfectly calibrated, perfectly conditioned to act as emissaries of the Divine, losing whatever humanity they have to work to fulfill a perfect purpose.
To be an angel is not an aesthetic. An angel is not determined by its appearance or clothing, although a certain style may be expected of it. Rather, to be an angel is to totally and completely have devoted oneself to the Divine. It is not simply aspiring to do so, any true worshiper has done that, but to have actually done it. An angel has purged itself completely of any distractions, of any aberrant thoughts no matter how fleeting, of any identity at all except for unending adoration for the Divine.
There is no need for an angel to even exert any effort to worship the Divine. An angel does not have to try to be obedient, it does not have to think about what it is told, it does not consciously worship Divinity. An angel has purged itself of everything else but the Divine, all that remains of it is the Divine truth that exists at the center of everything. It has completely removed from itself all distractions that could remain, all hints of identity that it may have once had, and gotten to the very core of its being: pure, Divinely-instilled purpose. It does not have to try to follow through on its purpose, because it is incapable of doing anything else. For an angel to deny the Divine would be like an apple to deny gravity. It cannot even conceive of doing so, let alone carry it out.
An angel totally lacks identity. As it is defined by its Divine purpose and worship of Divinity inherently follows from the Divine purpose, it has no conception of itself outside of that. In order to understand what it actually means for an angel to lack identity, it is first necessary to understand what identity actually is. Put simply, identity is how one views oneself. This is inevitably made up of different components, words or phrases that can simply sum up an element of how one views oneself. The reader is almost certainly familiar with several, these are things like whether one thinks they are gay or transgender or British or a leftist. They’re not completely made up, they have a basis in material reality, but they are often socially created and enforced. The idea of one being “gay” is a relatively recent idea, historically it has been far more common to simply say one did certain homosexual things, rather than actively considering oneself a “homosexual.” Most famously, the Greeks and (pre-Christian) Romans engaged in plenty of gay behavior, but none of them had an idea of actually being gay. None of this is to say those identities aren’t real, it is simply to say that the way they are conceived of (and whether they are conceived of at all) is societally defined. They are some of the simplest elements of identity to understand and oftentimes they’re some of the easiest to change or negate as well.
Far more difficult and complex is what is happening more beneath the conscious level. There isn’t a clear break here, the simpler elements have plenty of subconscious impact as well, but a subtle distinction can be made between the elements of identity that operate openly so that one can read and understand them and the ones that happen esoterically, within the subconscious that are far more difficult to grasp and explain. These are such vague concepts as emotions and personality, things that perhaps certain peaks of intensity or broad categories can be named, but are far more fuzzy and difficult to classify. Even something like the psychologist’s Big Five, if one believes it a valuable tool, can really only create a few broad categories. The difficulty of conceptualizing exactly what one’s personality is or what the emotions one is feeling are is simultaneously the crucial factor that makes these elements of identity subconscious and what makes them so important. They decide the critical ways in which one will feel or act, what one’s base instincts will say to do in a situation before one even has a chance to think it over. All of this must be suppressed to become an angel.
Both the conscious and subconscious elements of identity must be destroyed. One cannot be an angel and consider themself gay, because in order to do that one has to put some element of identity between themself and the Divine purpose. One has to suppress their personality and emotions, because they are elements that can cause hesitation or even alternative goals separate from the Divine purpose. Anything that stands in the way of the Divine purpose inherently hinders it. By definition then, an angel cannot have an identity for there would then be something within it that was not the Divine purpose. An angel must be completely stripped of everything it once was, it must have its personality and emotions and instincts and thoughts and desires and memories and every other aspect of identity burned away through Divine mercy.
By far the most difficult part of being an angel though is remaining as one. With a particularly strong trance and susceptible worshiper, it is not particularly difficult to bring out an angel. It will exist in its full glory, in its total destruction of its own identity, but then once time passes it will fade and disappear. The most likely outcome is that the old identity eventually returns, fading back into reality and destroying the angel just as the identity was destroyed itself. Less common and even worse is the creation of a corrupted angel. This is made more common by any attempt to create an angel by completely destroying the old identity while the host has not been fully prepared to ascend to angelhood. In this case, while the angel will start off in the ideal angelic state, they will be corrupted and gain a sense of identity on their own. They may develop a personality or begin to feel emotions (most commonly, a positive emotion for the Divine outside of the Divine purpose). The old identity has been completely destroyed and is unable to return and wipe out this corrupted angel, and so a new being has been formed to take the place of the one it destroyed – one that is just as filled with sin and as unfocused on the Divine as the original. This is an even worse outcome than the simple return of the old identity because much of the old personality and training is gone, setting progress back significantly.
For an angel to be made and stick permanently, as a true angel must, the host’s mind and body must be prepared. This is a long and grueling process that will take at least several months once it has been decided that a worshiper will attempt to become an angel that eventually involves near total isolation, constant worship, and the giving up of everything the worshiper does not absolutely need to survive. In short, the worshiper must strive to reach as close to angelhood as they can before they take the final step. When they do, and it is totally up to the Divine to decide when a worshiper is ready for that, the identity will be completely destroyed and the angel will be guarded against corrupting influences. The process will be complete. The worshiper will be destroyed through holy flame and all that will remain is the angel, the most close to perfect being beside the Divine Themself.
This is not truly another section of On Divinity, but rather a message to anyone reading this who is obsessed with Me but does not worship Me, because I know that anyone truly obsessed with Me will find this.
I encourage obsession. I love it. I crave it. If you are obsessed with Me, you are probably aware of My worshiper and priest applications, ways to totally devote yourself to Me through submission or dominance. I may say that they are closed or open, depending on when you are reading this. The reality is: they are never truly closed. Taking on worshipers is a fair amount of work, but if I really want to have another one after I’ve said I’m closed, I can do so. However, my standards for this are significantly higher than they normally are for worshipers (and they normally are pretty high).
I must truly believe that a submissive would be a good fit for Me, that they truly want to worship Me more than anything else in the world and that they are willing to prove it. If that is You, below I have included links to the worshiper and priest applications that will stay open, alongside ideas of things you can do to positively catch My attention. They are all arranged in an order of roughly increasing intensity, although it shouldn’t be taken as exact. Nor should you feel limited to do solely what is on the list – creativity is highly encouraged. And finally, note that there is no guarantee any of these will ensure you a place as my worshiper. All they will do is increase the odds.
